Königshaus am Schachen

Das Königshaus am Schachen von König Ludwig II. entspricht dem Stil eines sogenannten „Schweizerhauses“. In großem Kontrast zum schlichten Äußeren steht der luxuriöse „Maurische Saal“ im Obergeschoss. Geöffnet ist das Jagdhaus von Anfang Juni bis Anfang Oktober. Führungen finden täglich um 11, 13, 14 und 15 Uhr Führungen statt. Nicht weit vom Schloss liegt ein um 1900 angelegter botanischer Garten mit etwa 1500 verschiedenen Blumen und Pflanzen der Alpenflora. Der Schachen ist nur zu Fuß oder mit dem Mountainbike erreichbar.

The Royal House at Schachen
The Royal (or King's) House at Schachen of King Ludwig II of Bavaria is designed in the so-called „Swiss House“ style. The luxurious “Moorish Courtroom”, which occupies the whole of the top floor of the building, lies in stark contrast to the castle's plain exterior. The house is open from the beginning of June to the beginning of October, guided tours take place daily at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm. Nearby, you can also find a botanic garden, which was laid out in 1900 with approx. 1500 different species of Alpine plants and flowers. The Royal House can only be reached on foot or by mountain bike.
