Franziskanerkloster St. Anton

Zehn Gehminuten oberhalb Partenkirchens befindet sich die Wallfahrtskirche St. Anton. Als Kleinod wird das Kuppelfresko von Johann Evangelist Holzer bezeichnet. Es zählt zu den schönsten und bedeutendsten in Deutschland aus dem 18. Jhd.

St. Anton Franciscan Monastery
The pilgrimage church St. Anton is 10 minutes on foot above Partenkirchen. The fresco in the dome is the only surviving work of Johann Evangelist Holzer. Dating to 1736, it depicts St. Antonius as sufferer for the needy and is seen as one of the most significant and beautiful 18th century frescos in the whole of Germany.
