Weg

The King Ludwig Trail is well-signposted. Just follow the signs with a blue K with a little crown.

Hike out of Wildsteig via the district of Holz. Once you have passed through Holz, pass the remnants of a moor which has been preserved between the moraine walls, and continue following the trail as it alternates between forest and meadows, the trail continues over gentle rises and on through the lowlands to Wies and the World Heritage Site, Wieskirche, a local church.

The path now heads south towards the high mountains, passing through three small hamlets to reach the Birnbaumer Filz and the Hainzenbichl, which served as a place of worship for Celtic druids. Now it is not far from Trauchgau. The path leads through the village, BEAR LEFT, towards the swimming pool; reach Halblech, another small village enroute. Follow along the river path, with beautiful mountain views to Bayerniederhofen, from where, turn left towards Buching.
