Weg

From the ferry dock in St. Gilgen, start with your back to the lake, TURN RIGHT and follow the road parallel to the shore. When you reach the Mozarthaus, TURN RIGHT onto the gravel riverside path.

Follow the signs for “Spazierweg Rund um's Dorf - Walk around the village”. When you get to the road by the mini-golf course, TURN RIGHT and walk along the road for about 1 km along the lakeshore.

You pass a lookout point with benches. Ignore the streets turning off to the left. At the fork in the road, after a slight ascent, BEAR RIGHT and follow the path down through the small village of Brunnwinkl.

The path leads you back to the lake. Pass Gasthof Fürberg and CONTINUE STRAIGHT at the parking lot. At the next fork in the road by a little open green patch of grass, BEAR LEFT and follow the path towards St. Wolfgang. After a steep section, you can visit the pilgrimage church (Falkensteinkirche) located on the mountain and leave a blessing for Saint Wolfgang, visit the cave in which, according to legend, the clergyman hid from the devil, when he visited.

As you exit the forest, the path CONTINUES through the small town of Ried as you finish the last leg of today's walk along the lakeshore, direction St. Wolfgang.

You will arrive at the ferry dock, from here you can either take the bus or the ferry (payable on-site, approx. € 6) to delightful Strobl. If you are staying in St. Wolfgang for the night you will need to take the ferry or the bus to Strobl the next morning.
