Start
Diasbahn Gondola Top Station
Ziel
Niederelbe Hut
Weg
Upon arriving at the top station of the Diasbahn Gondola (accessible from Kappl), make your way uphill to the restaurant and play area by following the trail along the magic carpet (moving belt for skiers). Once reaching the gravel road above, it is possible to turn left and follow the signs to the Niederelbe Hut (as we'll describe here) or to turn right and follow the "Kulinarischer Jakobsweg" signs to the Almstüberl. The second option will lead you past a petting zoo and a small dairy farming museum.
Following the signs to the Niederelbe Hut, take a right turn when you see a gravel road switchbacking to your right. Follow this road a short distance, turning to the left at a junction and you'll see the Almstüberl almost immediately. The Almstüberl participates in the Kulinarischer Jakobsweb and we recommend it as a lunch stop (not included). You'll have a good view of the Niederelbe Hut located at the back of the valley.
Once done with lunch, follow the road uphill to the ski station, and locate the trail that descends to a traversing trail signed out for the Niederelbe Hut. Follow this well-marked trail to the hut.

Sicherheitshinweise
These directions and GPS tracks should be used only as a tool to aid navigation. Roads and trails are not always drawn on digital maps exactly as they are in real life, and trail conditions can change over time, leading to alternate routings. Always watch the trail and pay close attention to the trail signage, especially regarding detours or dangers that may lie on the route. Make safe navigation decisions that consider all of these factors. Never blindly follow a GPS track.
