From the mountain station at the Diasbahn, follow the sign to the left that heads up a small trail next to the magic carpet conveyor belt. Once reaching the gravel road above, turn right, and then shortly thereafter turn left, following signs for both the Niederelbe Hut and the Almstüberl/Kulinarischer Jakobsweg. Eventually the trail splits, and the Niederelbe Hut is to the left and the Almstüberl/Kulinarischer Jakobsweg continues straight and up through the petting zoo and past a museum. This routing takes the left route to the Niederelbe Hut, which also passes almost right by the Almstüberl - it's slightly more direct. If you prefer to visit the petting zoo and the museum, then simply follow the signs for the Kulinarischer Jakobsweg to the Almstüberl.

When you can see the large white ski lift building above, take the right turn that heads up to a dirt road. This road leads to the Almstüberl (which is slightly before and lower than the white ski lift building). From the Almstüberl, enjoy your lunch from the Kulinarischer Jakobsweg. From here, you can see the Niederelbe Hut perched high in the valley above. But don't be deceived, the way is further than you think. There is still a valley to circumnavigate out of view to your right.

From the Almstüberl, descend back down to the trail, and follow it as it traverses around the valley to the right and makes its way to the hut. The trail is well signed out.
