Return to the junction in Altenau where the Ammer-Amper Bicycle Route (AAR) and Bodensee-Königsee Bicycle Route meet. Turn left, and when the routes split shortly after Unternogg, continue straight on the Ammer-Amper Bicycle Route.

 The signage on this hilly route is quite good. The route name only shows up at critical junctions, but bicycle route signage is everywhere that is necessary.

 Continue through Morgenbach, and then on to Rottenbuch. In Moos, take the tunnel under the highway, and climb to the level of the road.

 Just before Peiting, Ammer-Amper Bicycle Route takes a sharp right turn. Continue straight here toward Peiting, following the Romantischestrasse Bicycle Route into Schongau.

In Schongau, leave the Romantischestrasse Bicycle Route at the information office (in the Rathaus), where the route turns left.

Instead, go straight, and turn right onto Christophstrasse. Follow this through the old city gate, the Maxtor, and straight across the main road. The Schongauer Brewery will be on the left.
