Weg
From the large parking area just below the Andechs monastery, locate the the directional signs for bicycles (just to the right when you come down the hill) and orient yourself to follow the signs to Seefeld. This will bring you down a lightly traveled road to the north into Widdersberg and further into Seefeld. As you arrive in Seefeld, you'll arrive at the Seefeld Castle. This is a great opportunity to take a break and walk around, as well as to grab something to eat (but there will be several beer gardens further down the road).
Just after the castle and the parking lot, turn right at the road following the signs for Starnberg and Widdersberg, then take an immediate left just before the road steepens to follow signs for Weßling. You continue following signs for Weßling for the next stretch.
You'll follow a bicycle trail alongside a road for a bit, and then move away from it with a slight uphill into a village. Here there are two routes to Weßling and the left route is longer and more interesting than the direct route to the right (which follows the road again on a bicycle path. We take the direct route to the right.
Just before Weßling, you'll pass a sports complex on the left. Here you leave the signs for Weßling and follow the signs to Gauting instead, now on the Amersee Bicycle Path.
Just a short distance after this turn, the road ends at a church. Despite the bicycle route sign that points to the left (downhill), our route ascends to the right around the church. However, taking a wrong turn here to the left might be a great mistake, as it leads right to a beautiful lakefront park, perfect for a snack break.
Follow this comfortable road for a good distance until it ends right at a bakery. Here the signs split (Gauting Right and Gilching Left). Follow the left turn to Gilching, marked as a Kreisradwanderung. Almost directly afterward, take a right turn, continuing to follow the signs to Gilching.
This next section is poorly signed out.
When you cross a road and the sign only shows Gilching straight and the trail leads under the road, turn right instead, passing a large parking area on the left. Turn left at the round-a-bout and follow the road through an office park. After passing all the buildings, you have a choice between a gravel road on the left or paved road on the right. Stay on the gravel and then take a sharp left to pass through a tunnel under the autobahn. After ascending out from the tunnel, turn right.
From here, the second right turn is signed out once again for the Ammersee Bicycle Route. Take the right turn and follow the gravel road. Shortly before crossing a road, you'll pass a sign that says to go straight. On the other side of the road, there is no sign, but you just continue on the gravel road that is in a straight-ish direction from where you came from.
Follow this gravel road for a long time, continue to follow signs for Gauting. It will eventually turn to pavement to travel under a highway, and then cross a smaller road going straight. When you reach a corner in a small village with drinking water and benches, turn left, following signs to Gauting.
When the route intersects with a larger road, continue straight on to the road and then turn right at the next intersection, following signs for Germering and Gauting. Turn left directly afterward, now following signs for Krailling. Here you'll have a good distance through the forest just following bicycle signs and not worrying too much about navigation. There is one junction in the forest where you stay straight, continuing to following signs for Krailling.
At the road, turn right. As you enter Krailling, you'll transition to following the signs for Pasing. These will take you to a left turn just before the Würm Stream. You'll roughly follow this stream, mostly on a small road. After crossing a bridge over the autobahn, the route transitions to comfortable trails through a park area. Turn right, following signs for Pasing, to finally cross over the creek.
Just as you are entering Pasing, you'll get signage for Marienplatz, which you'll follow for the last 12 kilometers.
