Die Tour
Take the Bergeralm cable car and the Hohe Turm cable car up to Nösslachjoch and hike to Obernberg.
Avoid the ascent via the Truna hut and the Egger Joch by taking the bus from Trins to Steinach am Brenner and take the mountain railway up to the Nösslachjoch, from which is it a leisurely along the mountain slope to the Egger Joch and then on to the Lichtsee lake before descending through the forest to Obernberg.

There is a small barn at the Lichtsee where you can take a break and enjoy your lunch surrounded by unspoilt nature.

0.0 km- EXIT the Hoher Turm gondola and TURN LEFT. Take the small steep path directly RIGHT up to the Nösslachjoch. The path is signposted with yellow signs towards Nösslachjoch and Lichtsee Lake.
0.1 km - REACH the Nösslachjoch. CONTINUE STRAIGHT, ignore the path that goes across the meadow to the left. CONTINUE direction Lichtsee and Trunajoch.
0.7 km - BEAR LEFT at the fence and continue ascending. Ignore the path on the right towards Vallmaritzalm.
0.1 km - CONTINUE along the trail, follow the signs to Lichtsee Lake
1.1 km - At the fork, BEAR LEFT. Ignore the steeper path on the right over the Egger.
2.2 km - Rejoin the path coming down from Egger on the right. BEAR LEFT, spot the cross on the Egger Joch summit.
2.3 km – ARRIVE at Egger Joch (2132m), the highest point of today's hike. The summit cross is on the right. BEAR RIGHT and then BEAR LEFT on trail 42 towards the Lichtsee lake.
4.4 km – PASS a small hut to the left, follow the signpost to the Lichtsee lake. CONTINUE to follow the narrow path.
4.7 km - At the fork, BEAR LEFT. Before the yellow signposts, TURN LEFT onto the meadow path, which leads down to the shore of the lake. ARRIVE at Lichtsee Lake
5.1 km – CONTINUE STRAIGHT leaving the shore. At the hut, CONTINUE STRAIGHT. Follow the direction of the yellow signpost Obernberg.
6.6 km - CROSS the fence and CONTINUE to follow the descending path across the meadow to a wide gravel path.
6.8 km - REACH the gravel road, TURN LEFT and follow the signs to Obernberg. Follow the gravel path as it snakes its way down.
7.3 km – BEAR RIGHT towards the Kastnerbergalm.
7.4 km - PASS the Kastnerbergalm on the right. Continue downhill on the wide gravel path.
7.7 km - In the bend, follow the yellow signpost to "Obernberg ÖAV Jugendhaus", leaving the gravel path. Follow the red and white marked stones and cross the wide gravel path, CONTINUE on the narrow descending path to Oberstdorf (Trail 126). The path is marked with red and white markings throughout.
7.8 km – REACH a fence, TURN RIGHT and CONTINUE descending.
8.3 km - Go through the gate and CONTINUE to follow the path.
8.5 km- Go through another gate and BEAR RIGHT and walk on a paved road down to the main street in Obernberg.
8.6 km - REACH the main road, TURN LEFT and walk into the village along the pedestrian path.
8.7 km - PASS the Rottenhöfe bus stop on the right
9.1 km – CONTINUE STRAIGHT - There is a path up to the church on the right.
9.2 km – ARRIVE at the Volksschule (school) in Obernberg and the Volksschule bus stop. Your hike ends here.

Ausrüstung
Always wear good walking boots with a robust sole, and take waterproofs with you. Take plenty of water with you (min. 1 litre) and don’t forget sunscreen!
Hiking poles are recommended.
Sicherheitshinweise
Keep an eye on the weather forecast. In the mountains, the weather can change quickly. The path through the forest up to the Truna hut can be muddy and slippery in rainy weather.
